 always been fascinated by language and became enamoured at an early age by
  the witty\, poetic songs of Jake Thackray and other similar songwriters s
 uch as Tom Lehrer and Flanders and Swann. In more recent years he has reki
 ndled this obsession\, joining together with other fans to get Jake’s ea
 rly material released on DVD and CD\, and going on to record 'The Lost Wil
 l and Testament of Jake Thackray'\, an album of long-lost songs\, most of 
 which had never been released before\, writing his own tunes to pieces whe
 re only the lyrics survived. In 2022\, along with fellow enthusiast John W
 atterson\, he published 'Beware of the Bull – The Enigmatic Genius of Ja
 ke Thackray'\, included by the Daily Telegraph it in its pick of the best
