SUMMARY:Hudson Freeman
LOCATION:EartH
DESCRIPTION:This event will take place in EartH Theatre.\n\nHudson Freeman
is a Brooklyn-based Lofi-Folk artist\, inspired and forged by the DIY midw
est.\n\nBorn in Waxahachie\, Texas to Evangelical missionaries\, Hudson st
arted writing songs upon a radical break at the age of thirteen when his f
amily suddenly moved from the suburbs of Dallas to The Kingdom of Eswatini
. The profound influence of indie big-hitters like Sufjan Stevens and Bon
Iver\, as well as college years spent in Springfield\, Missouri\, made a d
o-it-yourself midwesterner out of Hudson. After graduating school and wait
ing out a pandemic\, he headed to Brooklyn\, where things really began to
 stick.\n\nHis 2025 record\, Is A Folk Artist\, is a disarmingly-distinct c
ollection from a digital-age storyteller. It weaves issues of faith\, belo
nging\, and anxiety into a modern folk record that feels increasingly more
monumental by the minute. Much like the artists who inspire him—like Su
fjan Stevens\, Pedro the Lion\, and Weed (pre-Hotline TNT)—Hudson Freema
n finds himself at a uniquely turbulent coming-of-age moment. His music is
shaped by a religious upbringing\, grappling with moral absolutism\, flee
ting friendships\, and navigating a search for belonging online.\n\nThen\,
the riff took the world by storm. His new song "If You Know Me" drew in a
ttention from the masses\, catapulting Freeman into a wider spotlight than
  ever. It's a moody blend of bedroom pop\, folk\, slowcore\, and post-emo
 \, stitched together by a singular guitar riff and mantra-style lyrics\, c
onfirming Hudson's undeniable knack for melody. The demo turned barnburner
“If You Know Me” sent Freeman into the spotlight\, released last Nove
mber with a blown out cover of The Stones'/Flying Burrito Brothers' “Wil
 d Horses” to boot.\n\nEarlier this year\, he released a split EP\, Adult
Contemporary\, with his friend The Bedroomer—a collaborative effort see
ing the duo dive deeper into similar topics and sounds as Freeman continue
s to hone his sound and explore life’s curiosities.\n\nNow\, nearly a ye
ar after "If You Know Me" changed Freeman’s life\, he’s working harder
than ever. Spending more time than ever on the road\, 2026 has seen Hudso
n take the stage at Luck Reunion\, Newport Folk Fest\, opening slots for M
umford & Sons and Foxwarren\, plus sold-out headline shows across the coun
try and across the pond. Even all of that hasn't been able to slow down th
e songwriter. His new album\, his first with Mom+Pop\, is set to release t
his fall.\n\nFor more information on access at EartH\, please see our FAQs
