SUMMARY:One Leg Up: Asymmetrical Partial Suspensions
LOCATION:Coil & Cord
DESCRIPTION:Description: One-leg-up partial suspensions are at the core of
some of our favorite rope scenes: offering asymmetrical shapes and a wide
range of intensities and mobility. They can combine well with sensation
play\, impact play\, predicament bondage\, torturous rope\, and many other
kinds of fun! One-leg-up ties can often be more sustainable than suspensi
on that have a lot of arm and chest pressure. This class demonstrates examp
les of single-point and multi-point one-leg-up partial suspensions. We’
ll demonstrate and explain tips and tricks for precise rope handling\, adj
ustments\, and variations in these partial suspensions. Whether you are j
ust beginning (partial) suspension or are seeking to refine your suspensio
n skills\, this class offers useful tools and techniques. We’ll show exa
mples of bottom-led and top-led transitions\, and transitions through diff
erent levels of elevation and intensity. The class includes multiple optio
ns for loading different parts of the lower body (ankle\, foot\, calf\, th
igh\, and/or hip) and addresses exploring different shapes for different b
ody geometries. Partnering: This hands-on workshop is designed for tying p
airs\, but solo attendees are welcome to observe and/or to try to pair up
with another solo attendee.Prerequisites: People tying must solidly know a
  Somerville bowline single column tie\, a square knot\, half-hitch\, and l
ark's head. It is helpful to know some sort of chest harness and a way to
lock off a suspension upline–though these are not strict prerequisites.
All participants\, especially people being tied\, should have body aware
ness and be able to communicate their needs and limitations to their tying
partner. What to Bring: Tying pairs will need 3-5 suspension-appropriate r
opes\, a least 3 of which should be 25+ ft. long. Also bring suspension g
ear (e.g. carabiners and/or ring\, webbing sling) if you have it.\n\nBolet
