SUMMARY:An Evening of Rock and (camera) Roll.
LOCATION:The Attic
DESCRIPTION:'An Evening of Rock and (camera) Roll’ is an exciting new sh
ow and charity event from local songwriter Daniel Ash and music therapy ch
arity George’s Rockstars. In this one-off performance local songwriters
will debut never-before-heard songs inspired by photographs found on their
phones’ camera rolls. Each participating songwriter was challenged to s
elect a photograph and create an original song in response — transformin
g the prettiest\, strangest or funniest visual they could find into a new
composition. “As a songwriter who so often finds himself in a state of w
riter’s block\, it’s something I started doing myself to spark creativ
ity\,” explains Ash. “I was going to build an entire solo show around
the idea\, but thought it would be far more interesting to challenge some
brilliant local writers with the same task. The plan is that together we c
an create an exclusive live mixtape.” The photographs that inspired the
songs will be displayed during the performances\, allowing audiences to im
merse themselves in the connection between picture and song. All money fro
m ticket sales will go directly to George’s Rockstars\, a local charity
that provides music therapy and lessons for children with terminal illness
es. The charity was set up in honour of George O’Shaughnessy\, a student
of Daniel’s who sadly lost his battle with leukaemia in 2019. Featuring
  performances from\; Dan O’Farrell\, Owen Hackett\, Richard Bushby\, Sou
 thbound\, Everyday Avatar\, Sam Brawn\, Tamara-Jane Grzegorzek\, BGH\, Tee
