 LF: SPEAKEASY CLUB PARTY About the Venue Chats Palace was established in 1
 913 as a Carnegie library for the betterment of the people of the East End
 . The library closed in 1974 and soon after the building was reclaimed by 
 members of the local community. It was the venue for a load of political/b
 enefit gigs throughout the nineties (including Hackney Anarchy Week and a 
 poll tax benefit which ended in 19 arrests)\, and has a long history of ra
 dical/community activity like these. Independent EventWe are not for-profi
 t\, a company\, or label\, we’re two fellow lesbians on minimum wage wor
 king hard to make this event happen. We aim to centre subcultures (butch/s
 tud/fem/me)\, immigrants\, people of colour\, intergenerational connection
 s\, punk/alternative vibes. Sometimes are lucky to get funding\, which hel
 ps us make the event less expensive for attendees while paying our crew be
 tter. That's our ideal scenario given our economical situation\, but for t
 his event we are running everything out of pocket. We appreciate all of yo
 ur economic and moral support to help us keep this running. We will be as 
 transparent as possible with you about this and are grateful for all the l
