DESCRIPTION:**ALASDAIR ROBERTS**\n\nAcclaimed Scottish folk singer\, guitar
 ist and songwriter Alasdair Roberts is undertaking a short solo tour in Sc
 otland and England this autumn\, consisting of just four intimate dates.\n
 \nAlasdair has dedicated much of this year’s live activities to his vari
 ous collaborations (including as part of folk band The Furrow Collective a
 nd cult underground group Current 93\, as well as with smallpiper Donald W
 G Lindsay and with Norwegian microtonal guitarist Fredrik Rasten). This up
 coming tour will be a rare chance to witness Alasdair sing and play entire
 ly solo this year\, during which period he’s played only a handful of so
 lo concerts.\n\nWhile Alasdair has been focussed for a period on creating 
 the unique interpretations of traditional songs and ballads from Scotland 
 and beyond for which he’s rightly recognised\, fans of his own idiosyncr
 atic songwriting will be happy to know that a new album of self-written so
 ngs is in the early stages of preparation. Much of his time off the road t
 his year has been spent writing new material\, and so this tour will also 
 be an opportunity to hear him road-testing some previously unaired self-wr
