 sees return to Australia next February and this time they’re bringing a 
 returning band member\, a new album and a whole lot of shit they ain’t p
 layed in years! Singer\, keyboardist Brigid Dawson returns to the fold hav
 ing previously appeared during the mid-2000’s on some of their best / mo
 st well known material including the albums Help\, Carrion Crawler / The D
 ream and Floating Coffin. A solo performer in her own right\, Dawson is no
 ted for her harmonies and is credited with helping Osees frontman John Dwy
 er write melodies. It's the material from this period of Thee Oh Sees / OC
 S that will form the bulk of the set alongside cuts from the new album Off
  Course. "We went back to an older method of writing for this one. We jamm
 ed and jammed and jammed. I took the tapes home and ironed out some mutant
  tunes. We went back into the studio and burned them to tape live and then
  I took it home to Stu-Stu-Studio and did the vocals and brought in Tom Do
 las & Brigid Dawson to put the finish on. Spice is always nic e.” - John
  Dwyer The group’s evolution has been relentless: from lo-fi folk experi
 ments to high-voltage garage punk\, and into their current mix of krautroc
 k\, noise\, and progressive jams. Dwyer’s creative philosophy remains co
 nstant – no repetition\, no nostalgia\, no comfort zone. The result is a
  discography as sprawling and unpredictable as Frank Zappa’s or King Giz
 zard’s\, but with its own brand of Californian menace. "In the comfy cha
 ir\, as neo-hardcore\, post-punk fade into psychedelic garage-rock\, I eva
 nesce in the moments\, muse that with the theatre stage vision in front of
  me\, could this be what going to see The Psychedelic Stooges\, or Gratefu
 l Dead or MC5 back in the 60’s in San Francisco? Osees are achieving\, a
 gain and again\, taking their audience on an escapist (bus) trip.” - 13t
