  host\, covering a rear extension\, loft conversion and refurbishment of a
 n Edwardian house into a comfortable\, low-energy\, show-stopping home\, w
 here all internal partitions at ground floor were removed. The project inc
 ludes ...• Insulating and improving air-tightness• Triple-glazing• M
 asonry nib walls retained at ground floor to avoid energy-intensive steel 
 box frames• Natural materials including stone\, timber and lime plaster
 \, rather than cement-based products• Rear extension built in highly ins
 ulated 172mm SIPS and all existing building elements achieved a Passivhaus
  standard U-value of 0.15 or better• An MVHR system provides pre-heated 
 fresh air and filters the incoming air\, removing pollen\, diesel particul
 ates ad NOx to create a healthy indoor environmentDesign features:• Mini
 mising concrete structure• A continuous airtightness layer\, formed by e
 ither intello plus membrane (where timber construction eg: floor\, loft an
