SUMMARY:VECTOR#7: Past The Breaking Point

DESCRIPTION:VECTOR is an annual exhibition of contemporary performance and 
 time-based art. In each edition\, artefacts in different mediums are prese
 nted alongside a programme of live performance.\n\nVECTOR#7: Past The Brea
 king Point portrays two distinct\, unstable performance worlds\, where bod
 ies persist\, mutate\, and reconfigure themselves in response to collapsin
 g structures. In Hokuto Kodama’s Wound and Ground \, the body is situate
 d within a world shaped by the lingering socio-political atmosphere of Jap
 an’s Heisei era\, where regulation and internalised discipline govern ho
 w bodies move\, gather\, and exist. In contrast\, Weixin Quek Chong and As
 trid Sweeney imagine a body no longer bound to human coherence. Drawing fr
 om insect molting\, queer ecologies\, and speculative fiction\, ontogenesi
 s dreaming constructs an amorphous organism that continuously disassembles
  and reconfigures itself.\n\nAcross the exhibition\, artefacts\, scenograp
 hic elements\, and performative traces extend these choreographic inquirie
 s into spatial and temporal installations. VECTOR#7 invites audiences to m
 ove between states of witnessing and sensing\, encountering bodies that un
 dergo cycles of pressure\, rupture\, and reconfiguration in response to in
 ternal and systemic forces. Together\, the works ask: what forms can a bod
 y take when the ground beneath it no longer holds?\n\nThe programme of VEC
 TOR#7 will also include studio presentations by participants of da:ns LAB
