 hcraft history\, women were the main targets of accusations\, trials\, and
  executions\, reinforcing the connections between witchcraft and societal 
 expectations of women.\n\nWhen examined through a feminist lens\, the hist
 ory of witchcraft reveals how patriarchal structures have weaponised the f
 ear of witchcraft to control and oppress women. Many feminist scholars arg
 ue that the persecution of witches served as a means to enforce gender rol
 es\, limit female autonomy\, and maintain male dominance. But was this tru
 ly the case?\n\nThis talk will look at the real-life stories of individual
 s tried by the Roman Inquisition during the early modern period\, explorin
 g the lives\, beliefs\, and magical practices of both women and men accuse
 d of witchcraft by their communities. We will ultimately challenge the ide
