 wo lectures\, we will explore the Yachihoko Songs in the Kojiki\, a sequen
 ce of poems first exchanged between Ōkuninushi (here referred to as Yachi
 hoko) and a beautiful maiden named Nunakawahime\, and later between him an
 d his principal wife\, Suseribime. Through a close reading of these poems\
 , participants will gain an appreciation for the lyricism that permeates t
 his episode\, whose narrative is conveyed almost entirely through verse an
 d is unique to the Kojiki. The lectures will also introduce insights from 
 recent research conducted by the Kojiki Studies Project at Kokugakuin Univ
