DESCRIPTION:How can we tell stories through objects? And what happens when 
 an object becomes a character\, a partner\, or part of an ensemble?In this
  workshop\, led by Alina Weber\, participants explore puppetry through cur
 iosity\, play\, and physical experimentation. Working individually and as 
 an ensemble\, we will experiment with objects\, materials\, and puppets\, 
 exploring different ways of giving them presence\, movement\, and life.The
  workshop draws on different forms of puppetry and performance and invites
  participants to discover the relationship between performer\, object\, an
 d audience—and to explore puppetry as a versatile theatrical language\, 
 rather than a single technique. AboutThroughout the Autumn Season\, London
  Performance Studios is excited to host a series of five workshops led by 
 our resident theatre company The Director’s Theatre Writer’s Theatre (
 TDTWT). The workshops are tailored to professional actors\, physical theat
 re practitioners\, and drama students. Each workshop offers 15 hours of im
 mersive exploration over three to five days. Led by artists across a wide 
 spectrum of disciplines\, these sessions will explore Active Analysis\, ma
 sk work\, puppetry\, physical theatre\, and voice. Alina Weber is a puppet
 eer\, performer and director based in Dresden\, Germany. She studied Conte
 mporary Puppetry at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Ber
 lin from 2012–2016. She has been part of The Director's Theatre Writer's
  Theatre (TDTWT) since 2017. She works across theatre\, film and radio in 
 London\, Basel\, Paris\, and beyond. Since 2019\, she has been a member of
  the puppetry ensemble at tjg. theater junge generation in Dresden\, one o
 f Germany’s largest theatres for young audiences. Alongside her work as 
 a puppeteer\, she develops her own projects as a director\, exploring the 
 possibilities of puppetry\, objects\, and physical theatre. The Director
 ’s Theatre Writer’s Theatre (TDTWT) is an international ensemble that 
 has been creating plays primarily within the contemporary visual art conte
 xt since 2013—integrating the black box of the theatre into the white cu
 be of the gallery.TDTWT’s work forms a hybrid of dramatic and post-drama
 tic theatre\; blending post-dramatic aesthetics\, classic narrative struct
 ures like melodrama and queer theory\, and utilising Stanislavsky’s Acti
 ve Analysis and structured Etudes. TDTWT stages original writing\, adaptat
 ions of plays or novels\, and commissions new plays by associate writers.A
 s of 2025\, TDTWT is the resident theatre company at London Performance St
 udios\, where it produces and programmes productions or workshops on a sea
 sonal basis with the aim to create a solid and constant repertoire of cont
