DESCRIPTION:Join Indigenous artist Marissa Magneson for an immersive works

  earrings. Marissa will guide you through beading techniques and share the
  cultural significance behind this beautiful craft. This workshop is perfe

 ll current exhibitions. \nAbout the Facilitator Marissa Magneson is a Cr
 ee-Métis artist\, photographer\, educator\, and workshop facilitator curr
 ently pursuing her Ph.D. at York University in the Faculty of Education\, 
 where she is researching Beadwork as Pedagogy: A Bridge Towards Cultural R
 eclamation and (re)Conciliation. She has a BFA honours degree from York Un
 iversity (Toronto\, Canada) and a Master’s degree in Canadian and Indige
 nous Studies from Trent University (Peterborough\, Canada). Her research e
 xplores Indigenous methodologies using beadwork as visual storytelling. Ma
 rissa’s work is rooted in decolonizing education\, strengthening communi
 ty\, and cultural reclamation. In her collaborative work with various orga
 nizations\, Marissa works towards photographing\, consulting\, educating\,
  and creating programming in meaningful ways. Marissa would like to acknow
 ledge her maternal grandmother\, Elaine Jessop\, whose life-long work on I
