  of meaning echo in plain sight. Histories gather like layers of dust\, me
 mories are summoned into the present\, and vital aspects of life (and deat
 h) go unremarked. The three artists in this event play with the tension of
  bringing such themes to light.\n\n \nDylan Kerr’s artistic practice oft
 en starts with attuning to a site’s histories and unique resonant qualit
 ies. For Upstream\, they present Substratum\, a composition for voice and 
 fixed electronics that draws inspiration from the Hindustani Dhrupad tradi
 tion.\n\n \nPlaying from his 2022 album Ison\, ABADIR—the solo project o
 f Cairo-born music producer and sound designer Rami Abadir—revisits the 
 cultural surroundings of Cairo for potential mutation\, drawing on the Cop
 tic\, Syriac\, Maronite\, Greek Orthodox and Catholic choir chants he hear
 d growing up in the city.\n\n \nDiving into the frantic instability of pre
 carious headspace\, Morgan Garrett wrestles with the sharp edges of life a
 nd death. In his performances\, acoustic guitars are less played than daub
 ed\, and detuned\, spidery electrics sputter and collapse.\n\n \n-\n\n \nD
 ylan Kerr (b. 1996\, Ireland) is an artist and vocalist working across per
 formance\, sound\, installation\, moving image and composition. Their prac
 tice is deeply attuned to place\, often creating works that engage with th
 e unique resonant qualities and histories of specific environments. In the
 ir compositions\, they combine process-based methods\, microtonality\, and
  extended vocal techniques to explore psychoacoustic phenomena such as int
 erference patterns\, combination tones and the interplay between the voice
  and space.\n\n \nhttps://dylankerr.net/about\n\n \nABADIR is a music prod
 ucer\, sound designer\, DJ and music critic born in Cairo\, Egypt and\n\n 
 based in Berlin\, Germany. His work varies between a large spectrum of sty
 les\, combining cinematic\, club and ambient music. His concepts deal with
  themes inspired by fiction\, memory and cultural artefacts. He has partic
 ipated in various festivals like Roskilde\, CTM\, Rewire\, Primavera Sound
 \, Unsound\, Nuits Sonores\, Lost Music\, Lunchmeat\, Linecheck\, Insomnia
 . ABADIR is part of the SVBKVLT roster\, and his latest EP ‘The Primitiv
 ist’ is released on Planet Mu. His artistic practice extends to academia
 \, music criticism and critical theory. He holds a\n\n master’s degree i
 n digital media from the University of Arts Bremen and he’s the editor o

 dj/abadir\n\n \nMorgan Garrett has long been a stalwart presence in indepe
 ndent American experimental music. One of those souls reared in the border
 lands where rural Appalachia begins to melt into the Midwest\, where the l
 ong shadows of DuPont Chemical and Perdue Pharma lay over thousands of liv
 es. Reaching for any sonic tools without pretense of recapitulating any mu
 sical tradition\, his work evades the confines of genre\, but has found a 
 home amidst both the more personal and off-kilter visions from American no
 ise and industrial music\, and the fringes of electronic music. Morgan's l
 ive performances are notoriously potent and surreal\, often compared to Bu
 toh. Strobing footlights both obfuscate and illuminate Morgan's extreme ge
 stures and unwavering energy throughout his psychodrama. The 2024 release 
 of his acclaimed debut LP Purity on Orange Milk Records underscores his co
 mmitment to his craft and to the wider world of challenging electronic mus
 ic. "The Mirror” is Morgan’s follow-up to Purity\, and his most realiz
 ed project to date. Morgan has been featured in publications such as Pitch
