DESCRIPTION:Named after the Melbourne Cup-winning racehorse\, media puzzle
  is the solo recording project of Lismore-based artist and musician Tom Pe

 le are fast becoming one of the most exciting musical exports. Over the pa
 st three years\, media puzzle has released three scuzzy post-punk albums a
 nd two blisteringly short\, high-energy EPs. Residing somewhere between Su
 icide’s dark minimalism an Uranium Club’s eccentric edge\, the project
 ’s last two releases earned an exclusive vinyl feature at Rough T rade a
 nd a strong 7.6 rating from Pitchfork\, which praised its “uncanny creat
 ivity that egg-punk weirdos love to tout.” Having carved out a space bet
 ween drum machine-driven egg-punk and fuzzy scuzz-pop\, the newest record 
 marks a departure from previous efforts and hints at a maturing sound. Aft
 er a year of DIY recording and touring\, opening for Regurgitator and bein
 g booked around Australia\, media puzzle returned with a fourth (and still
  somewhat speedy) album\, New Racehorse. Moving beyond the drum machine-he
 avy egg-punk approach of earlier releases\, this record is their most coll
