DESCRIPTION:Meeting at music college in Brighton\, this young band have pu
 lled together so\nmany influences\, to take a classic ska rhythm into the 
 21st century. They blend\nestablished Jamaican dance rhythms\, sprinkled w
 ith indie rock guitar and\ncatchy choruses that give this band a truly fre
 sh and new sound. Clara Byrne's\nmesmerizing lead vocal cuts through like 
 a wave of emotion\, her lyrical content\nstraight from the soul\, with ser
 ious social issues explored through dramatic\ndelivery.\nFormed in 2017\, 
 this band have come on leagues in a very short space of time.\nInvolved in
  The Camden Roundhouse Emerging Artists programme\, Spider\nJohnson (Potat
 o 5\, Lee Perry\, Acid Jazz\, Kioko) produced the first album really\npull
 ing the loose ends together\, giving a professional edge of experience to 
 the\nband.\nDakka Skanks are already picking up several live shows from pr
 omoters across\nEurope\, the first Spanish mini-tour of the Madrid area ge
 nerated more offers\nincluding several shows across Germany\, France\, Bel
 gium and Spain. 2018\nbrought shows with Madness\, Neville Staple\, The Sk
 atalites\, headline slots\nacross the country and dates across Europe. 201
 9 bought more extensive\nEuropean touring\, a show with the mighty Toaster
 s and lots more as the year\nmoved forward\, and 2020 would have seen Dakk
 a Skanks playing at many more\nfestivals and events in the UK and beyond -
  Except for that pandemic……..\, but\nundeterred Dakka have carried on 
 releasing the tracks ‘Mr Murder’\, ‘Sir Action’\nand the current s
 ka anthem in the making ‘Babylon Falling’.\nAfter the first lockdown l
 ifted Dakka Skanks had a very busy 2021 starting with\nheadlining the firs
 t live event in Brighton and The Dome and into festival\nseason with appea
 rances at Illusive Festival\, Tearout Festival\, Victorious\nFestival\, Le
 eds Ska Festival and at Lakefest where they were so well received on\nthe 
 Friday that they were asked to cover a main stage slot the next day sharin
 g\nthe stage with Stereo MC’s\, New Model Army and Scouting For Girls\, 
 and they\nfinished the year on the main stage at House of Fun with Madness
  in Minehead.\n2022 was another busy year with a European tour supporting 
 Buster Shuffle in\nJune and support slots with The Selecter\, Popes of Chi
 llitown and The Dub\nPistols as well as a busy festival season culminating
  at Boomtown. On the\nrelease front\, the In Control EP was released in De
