DESCRIPTION:FREAK QUEER RAVE — SAFER SPACES POLICY\n\nPLEASE READ OUR SAF
 ER SPACES POLICY BEFORE ATTENDING FREAK.\n\nFreak is a queer rave. We exis
 t to create a space where LGBTQIA+ people can dance\, connect\, express th
 emselves and take up space freely.\n\nOur dancefloor brings together peopl
 e of different genders\, sexualities\, races\, bodies\, backgrounds and ex
 periences. Protecting that mix — and particularly the people within our 
 community who can experience marginalisation elsewhere — is incredibly i
 mportant to us.\n\nEveryone is welcome at Freak who understands\, respects
  and contributes to that ethos.\n\nA safer space isn’t something we can 
 create through a policy alone. It depends on everyone who enters the space
  taking some responsibility for the people around them.\n\nThis policy set
 s out what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.\n\nOUR ETHO
 S\n\nFreak is built around queer community\, freedom\, respect and express
 ion.\n\nCome as you are. Dance how you want. Wear what you want. Be who yo
 u want.\n\nBut remember that sharing a queer space means being aware of th
 e people around you. Respect people’s identities\, bodies\, boundaries a
 nd personal space.\n\nIf you’re joining us as an ally\, you’re very we
 lcome — but please remember that you are entering a space created first 
 and foremost for LGBTQIA+ people.\n\nCONSENT\n\nConsent is essential.\n\nD
 o not touch somebody without their consent. That includes sexual contact\,
  kissing\, dancing against someone\, hugs or other physical contact.\n\nWh
 at somebody is wearing\, how they’re dancing or how they’re expressing
  themselves is never an invitation to touch them.\n\nConsent should be ent
 husiastic and ongoing. It can also be withdrawn at any point.\n\nIf it’s
  not a clear yes\, it’s a no.\n\nZERO TOLERANCE FOR HARASSMENT & DISCRIM
 INATION\n\nFreak has zero tolerance for harassment\, intimidation\, violen
 ce or discriminatory behaviour.\n\nRacism\, transphobia\, homophobia\, mis
 ogyny\, sexism\, ableism\, body shaming or discrimination based on someone
 ’s gender\, sexuality\, race\, ethnicity\, disability\, age\, class\, na
 tionality\, religion or background has no place at Freak.\n\nAnyone behavi
 ng in a way that threatens the safety or comfort of others may be asked to
  leave.\n\nLOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER\n\nQueer nightlife has always been abou
 t community.\n\nLook after your friends\, but look out for people you don
 ’t know too.\n\nIf somebody looks uncomfortable or appears to need help
 \, check in with them or speak to a member of our team.\n\nIf you or someb
 ody else feels unwell\, overwhelmed or unsafe\, please tell us. You won’
 t be judged for asking for help.\n\nWELFARE & REPORTING SOMETHING\n\nIf so
 mething doesn’t feel right\, tell us.\n\nYou can speak to our welfare te
 am\, venue staff or security at any point during the event.\n\nPHONES\, PH
 OTOS & PRIVACY\n\nPeople should be able to lose themselves on the danceflo
 or without worrying about appearing unexpectedly on somebody else’s soci
 al media.\n\nPlease be considerate when using your phone and never photogr
 aph or film somebody without their consent.\n\nWe may have photographers w
 orking at some Freak events. They will work within our consent guidelines.
  If you’ve been photographed and later change your mind about an image b
 eing used\, please contact us.\n\nDRESS & SELF-EXPRESSION\n\nThere is no F
 reak dress code.\n\nCome dressed up\, dressed down\, in fetishwear\, sport
 swear\, a full look or whatever makes you feel like yourself.\n\nSomeone w
 earing revealing clothing\, fetishwear or very little clothing is never an
  invitation for sexual attention or physical contact.\n\nRespect people’
 s bodies and their boundaries.\n\nQUEER SPACE & ALLIES\n\nYou don’t have
  to identify as LGBTQIA+ to attend Freak.\n\nWe love our allies and believ
 e queer spaces can be strengthened by people who genuinely support our com
 munity.\n\nBut Freak exists intentionally as a queer space.\n\nIf you’re
  attending as an ally\, be conscious of the space you’re entering. Don
 ’t treat queer people\, queer bodies or queer culture as entertainment. 
 Listen\, respect boundaries and allow LGBTQIA+ people to remain at the cen
 tre of the space.\n\nSTAFF\, ARTISTS & THE VENUE\n\nOur safer spaces polic
 y applies to everyone - dancers\, artists\, staff\, security\, photographe
 rs\, contractors and the Freak team.\n\nPlease treat the people working at
  our events with the same respect you expect from them.\n\nACCESSIBILITY\n
 \nWe want Freak to be accessible to as much of our community as possible.
 \n\nWe aim to keep ticket prices affordable\, offer community tickets wher
 e possible and provide free carer/personal-assistant tickets for people wh
 o need them.\n\nFREAK IS YOUR SPACE TOO.\n\nRespect each other.\nRespect p
