DESCRIPTION:Forma returns to The Island this October for the first edition 
 of its new four-part residency\, bringing together Ehua and LWS. \nThis ed
 ition brings together two artists who approach club music from different a
 ngles\, but share an interest in taking familiar sounds somewhere less pre
 dictable. Both Ehua and LWS move fluidly between techno\, bass\, electro a
 nd more experimental forms\, with rhythm and sound design at the centre of
  their work.\nLondon-based Italian producer\, DJ and vocalist Ehua has dev
 eloped a sound that is difficult to pin down\, but immediately recognisabl
 e. Her productions are built from intricate percussion\, shifting tempos a
 nd detailed sound design.\nWith releases across Nervous Horizon\, TraTraTr
 ax\, 3024\, Exit Records\, Ninja Tune and SVBKVLT\, her music is constantl
 y in motion. Percussion twists around heavy bass\, melodic fragments appea
 r and disappear\, and rhythms shift unexpectedly without losing their phys
 ical pull. Her DJ sets carry the same instinct for movement\, connecting d
 ifferent tempos\, textures and rhythmic structures into something that fee
 ls cohesive without being predictable.\nScottish producer and DJ LWS has b
 een carving out his own corner of the UK underground with a sound that is 
 chaotic\, percussive and elusive. His productions pull apart techno\, elec
 tro\, IDM and bass music\, finding strange angles within familiar club str
 uctures.\nWith releases on TraTraTrax\, Peder Mannerfelt Production and Ma
 trice Recordings\, his music is maximalist in detail but never loses its p
 hysicality. Rhythms stutter\, textures collide and things rarely settle wh
 ere you expect them to. His recent Mixmag The Mix moves through deeper gro
 oves\, fractured percussion and heavier moments with a natural sense of pr
 ogression.\nSetting the tone - is resident Dom Carlo and forma head severi
 ne. Dom Carlo's stripped-back approach to UK bass draws on sub-heavy rhyth
 ms\, precise percussion and the deeper end of Bristol's soundsystem tradit
 ion. severine's selections move between warped percussion\, metallic textu
 res\, dubstep\, techno\, electro and experimental club music.\nWe return t
 o the city’s favourite stripped-back rooms: low ceilings\, a heavy syste
 m provided by AMBER AUDIO\, and no distractions. Specialised lighting will
  be designed by Occyx. There is no better place for this than The Island -
  industrial yet intimate\, a stripped-back former police station that has 
 long been the backbone of Bristol’s underground scene.\nForma is built a
 round artists who are pushing club music somewhere slightly unfamiliar whi
 le keeping a connection to the physicality of the dancefloor. This edition
