DESCRIPTION:THE YUMMY FUR’s first album of new material in over 25 years 
 is seductive and ambiguous\; a fast-paced flip through scenes from art\, m
 yth\, life and fantasy\; a witty whole made from glittering scraps. The ba
 nd’s original incarnation – fronted by singer\, songwriter and guitari
 st John McKeown from 1992 to 1999 – morphed from making quick-hit cartoo
 n-art songs to Eno and Cale-influenced creepers\, populated by characters 
 from McKeown’s life in Glasgow and the films\, books and poetry that he 
 lived a parallel life through. Everybody Talks About The Weather (out on S
 ep 24th through Upset The Rhythm) delights in using every past iteration o
 f the band as potent collage material: a melee of sounds and ideas existin
 g at once\, revealing themselves then dipping back into hiding.\n\nRecorde
 d by the original core trio of McKeown\, Brian MacDougall (guitar) and Pau
 l Thomson (drums)\, Everybody Talks About The Weather comes 17 years after
  the band reformed for sporadic live shows\, and seven years after the rel
 ease of their sorta-greatest hits compilation Piggy Wings (Rock Action). T
 en tracks long with nothing to spare\, it is as condensed and vital as the
 ir best songs\, with a new clarity of sound that allows their ambiguities

 ! The once pre-teen punk prodigy has finally grown up\, in so much as he a
 nd his Outrageous Methods Of Presentation release their debut single prope
 r - the double AA sided single featuring two songs of completely different
  styles that work well together\, each clocking in at around 1 minute 30 s
 econds. Bruno says of them: “Tire Iron is an anarchistic salutation from
  a parallel universe where the king of rock ’n’ roll’s name is missp
 elled Hasil Adkins. This is all of the truth in the universe\; the sound o
 f angels kissing”. “You Know I Love You’ is a paean to the eternal s
 alvation of love\, albeit one that comes off like a disturbing Chinn and C
 hapman song”. In the current climate it’s often only kids from affluen
