 nd the old fishing town of Leigh-on-Sea\, collecting sounds as you go.Host
 ed by sound veteran Brad Acton\, you’ll be taken through the entire proc
 ess of collecting sounds and noises\, finding inspiration\, types of micro
 phones and recorders\, the philosophy behind the noise as well as categori
 sation and storage.You’ll then head to 'No Place Like Home' in Leigh Mar
 ina for a drink of your choosing as you are guided through different ways 
 to use your sounds and turn them into something you might want to share or
  maybe even release.Meet at 10 am on Sunday morning by the big red buoy (W
 hatThreeWords///flap.cheek.glaze) next to The Crooked Billet Pub and Osbor
 nes Sea Food.We will walk along through Old Leigh as we talk about the phi
 losophy of sound\, collecting as we go. You'll get a chance to try out som
 e contact microphones and a hydrophone as you become inspired by your surr
 oundings.You are welcome to bring your own recorder and we definitely reco
 mmend bringing your own headphones\; however\, we do have some you can use
  and share.After working our way along Old Leigh talking about various mic
 rophones and techniques\, we will head back up past the cockle sheds and g
 ather in a very cool little spot called "No Place Like Home” in Leigh Ma
 rina for a beverage of your choice.You’ll also be shown some techniques 
 for cleaning and manipulating the sounds (or not) in preparation to be tur
 ned into a musical composition\, and we can chat about different DAWs.We
 ’ll cover a spectrum of music from conventional to improvised.You’ll l
 eave with a recommended reading list\, listening list\, as well as local p
 laces to hear improvised music.You get to keep the sounds you collected.Th
 e weather is unpredictable so dress accordingly\, you may want to bring a
