DESCRIPTION:Rosie Doonan is a musician\, composer\, writer\, topliner\, and
  vocalist from West Yorkshire. Hailing from Wakefield - with firm family r
 oots in Tyne and Wear - Rosie cut her teeth on the local music scene both 
 at home and in neighbouring Leeds before settling in Saltaire\, a jewel in
  the crown of the industrious north. She’s a northern lass through and t
 hrough\, and all the better for it.\n\nThat\, however\, skips over a caree
 r that has seen her work across film\, sync\, advertising and television\,
  composing music for the likes of Universal\, Audio Network and The Nerve
 \; she has tackled almost anything from soul to swing when both writing an
 d performing\; but folk is where her heart is. The 2010’s saw album rele
 ases\, yet long before that Rosie was soaking up the free folk festivals o
 f the British countryside\, following (both literally and figuratively) in
  the footsteps of her father and uncle playing in folk luminaries Hedgehog
  Pie. In 2006\, she was nominated for a BBC Folk Award with Ben Murray for
  their collaboration ‘Mill Lane’.\n\nThere’s new music\, and this wi
 ll be her album launch – it’s a cliché to say her writing has matured
 \, but in this case\, it would be entirely true. Hints of Laura Marling an
 d Richard Hawley creep in\, but this is very much the original sound of a 
 songwriter gathering all her musical experience and a life lived into a co
