 thirty-ninth edition of Playback with Tomin.\n\nTomin is a self-taught mul
 ti-instrumentalist\, bioinformatician\, and poet from Brooklyn\, New York.
  His primary instruments are the flute\, trumpet\, and alto clarinet\, and
  he participates in the creative music scene as a performer\, improvisor\,
  composer\, and fan. Outside of music\, he works in computational genetics
 \, with a focus on oncology.\n\nAmong other accolades for his first ensemb
 le album\, A Willed and Conscious Balance\, The New York City Jazz Record 
 awarded Tomin "Up-and-Comer of the Year\," "Best Debut\," and "Best New Re
 lease of the Year\, Honorable Mention." Writing about his solo compilation
 \, Flores Para Verene / Cantos para Caramina\, which came out a few months
  earlier\, Downbeat Magazine said\, "Tomin-Perea Chamblee's debut is an in
 timate dialogue between past and present\, loss and life\, woven through a
  deeply personal and richly layered musical tapestry.”\n\nPlayback is a 
 series of informal listening events curated by Kamran Sadeghi where record
  labels\, musicians\, composers\, and producers feature recordings from th
