DESCRIPTION:Join **Electric Voice Theatre** at Conway Hall for a singing ce
 lebration of Kathleen Lonsdale - the first female professor at UCL and one
  of the first female Royal Society Fellows. Defying all odds\, her pioneer
 ing science led to breakthroughs in organic chemistry and medical treatmen
 ts. Beyond science\, Lonsdale was a prison reformer\, women’s rights act
 ivist and pacifist\, warning of the dangers of nuclear physics and wealth 
 inequality in her book *Is Peace Possible?*\n\nThe music\, performed by **
 Electric Voice Theatre**\, **UC8** and the **Clerkenwell Community Choir**
 \, reflects Lonsdale's eclectic life. Ranging from Celtic airs to music-ha
 ll ditties and Italian cantos\, the performance features new work and song
 s by her contemporaries like Elizabeth Maconchy\, Imogen Holst\, Avril Col
 eridge-Taylor\, Marie Dare and Conway Hall’s radical thinkers\, Eliza Fl
 ower and Josephine Troup.\n\nFollowing the performance\, we will examine h
 er history with historian **Dr Patricia Fara** and meet some of today’s
