SUMMARY:Adam Sweet Band
LOCATION:Chapel Arts Centre
DESCRIPTION:Since being crowned Introducing Stage winners at The Great Bri
tish Rock and Blues Festival in 2023 the Adam Sweet Band have been rapidly
gaining a reputation as one of the tightest units on the circuit. They ha
ve built on their success with triumphant performances at venues and festi
vals across the UK\, including London’s 100 Club\, the Brudenell Social
Club\, Sidmouth & Rye International Jazz & Blues Festivals\, the Great Bri
tish Rhythm & Blues Festival and they have supported the likes of Wishbone
Ash\, Kris Barras Band and Elles Bailey. In 2025 they were nominated in t
he category of ‘UK Blues Emerging Act of the Year’ at the UK Blues Awa
rds. Taking his cue from the British blues boom sounds and rock riffs of t
he 60s and 70s\, independent blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Ad
am Sweet has been carving out his own territory between classic rock\, blu
es and Americana for over a decade. With his band he delivers brooding blu
es and rootsy rock\, balancing richly detailed song writing\, soulful voca
ls and expertly piercing guitar work. The Adam Sweet Band features: • Ga
rry Kroll on drums (whose touring and recording credits include Mark Ronso
n\, Joss Stone\, Sandi Thom\, Elles Bailey\, Demi Marriner and Andrea Boce
lli) • Paddy Blight on bass (Hollow Souls\, The Hoosiers\, Andy Timmons\
, That Pedal Show) • Thomas Hughes on Hammond organ (Nektar\, Eddie Floy
d\, Geno Washington\, Danny Bryant\, The Selecter) In 2024 they released
‘Live at Crescent Records’ with the accompanying YouTube series clocki
ng up over 80k views in the first few months of its release. 2026 will see
Adam releasing his next studio album following up his acclaimed 2020 albu
m release ‘Sink or Swim’. Since first taking to the live scene in the
South West of England at the age of 15 Adam has worked in various guises:
solo acoustic\, session player and band leader. The result is consummate a
bility to switch from sensitive singer-songwriter to full-on blues rocker
with ease\, as demonstrated in his countless live performances and his out
put as a recording artist. “Sonically\, Adam is a guitar-slidin’ force
of nature whose songs can fill a hall with their effortless verve. Rangin
g from quietly desperate blues tunes to careening full-tilt rock\, his app
roach is a testament to the idea that less can\, in fact\, be considerably
more. A young bluesman with an ancient soul and a large presence in the h
ere-and-now.” Press Quotes “One of the tightest live acts on the blues
/rock circuit - Tuesday Night Music Club live review “Adam Sweet is an u
ndiscovered gem” – Maximum Volume Music “Loud-and-proud blues-rock
” – RnR Magazine “Stellar roots rockin!” – Pete Feenstra “Adam
’s gift is timeless.” – The Blues Magazine “He is simply among the
