 g Band featuring an all-star cast to East Side Jazz Club ahead of the reco
 rding of their debut album. Having studied in both Birmingham and Berlin h
 e now leads his own Big Band featuring some of the brightest musicians on 
 the UK scene playing both his original music and arrangements.In 2020 he w
 on the Eddie Harvey Arranger Award with his arrangement of Olly Chalk’s 
 piece Berlin. London Jazz News said: “It is a joyous piece full of energ
 y and interesting changes of direction. It has a brassy feel which reminde
 d me of Mike Gibbs’ writing.” In 2021 he won the Dankworth Prize for h
 is piece Big Grin.Influenced by his heroes such as Jim McNeely\, John Holl
 enbeck\, Slide Hampton and the great tradition of jazz\, Tom’s compositi
 on also draws on 20th century classical approaches in its rich harmony\, s
 tructure and attention to detail whilst serving as a springboard for organ
