 brating Our Golden Season! The Susquehanna Symphony’s Golden (50th) Seas
 on will begin with compositions we have performed in the past and composer
 s with whom we have had a close relationship: African American composer Wi
 lliam Grant Still\; friends to the SSO Amanda Harberg and Kile Smith\; and
  Sir Malcolm Arnold\, our guest in March of 2000. The works by Vaughan Wil
 liams and Fauré were performed at the Orchestra’s very first concert! W
 e welcome back guest soloist Carolyn Black-Sotir (soprano)\; JoAnna Cochen
 et joins to conduct two works. William Grant Still – Threnody in Memory 
 of Jan Silbelius Ralph Vaughan Williams\, arr. Gordon Jacobs – English F
 olk Song Suite Gabriel Fauré – Pavane Sheldon Bair – The Homefront 19
 44 Carolyn Black-Sotir\, soprano Malcolm Arnold – Four Cornish Dances\, 
 Op. 91 Amanda Harberg – Prayer (for orchestra) Kile Smith – Susquehann
 a 6:15 pm – the lobby opens for patrons to enjoy concessions from Coffee
  Coffee and shop with local artists\, authors\, and other vendors (items p
 riced up to $100). 6:30 pm – Pre-Concert Talk held in the Auditorium. Wh
 ile we welcome children for our concerts\, if children cannot remain silen
 t\, please escort them to the lobby as a courtesy to the other patrons and
  performers . We appreciate your support of the orchestra\, but please sta
