 nniversary of our nation’s founding. For generations\, the United States
  has inspired composers from both within and beyond its borders\, shaping 
 works that reflect America’s landscapes\, cultures\, and evolving identi
 ty. This program highlights that influence\, beginning with Antonín Dvoř
 ák’s Symphony No. 9\, “From the New World\,” a work shaped by his i
 mpressions of America’s musical traditions. We continue with Edward MacD
 owell’s Suite No. 2\, “Indian Suite\,” one of the earliest major orc
 hestral works by an American composer. The evening concludes with a world 
 premiere of an original piece written by MiraCosta College Symphony Orches
 tra’s composer‑in‑residence\, Christoph Rayburn—to commemorate thi
