SUMMARY:Writing the New Moon: A Virgo Ritual of Care\, Land & Economy
LOCATION:The People's Letters
DESCRIPTION:New Moons are times of beginning\, a quiet invitation to set o
ur intentions in the dark pause before the light returns. Under the Virgo
New Moon\, we gather to write\, reflect\, and root into the theme of care:
for ourselves\, for each other\, and for the land. This intimate workshop
blends guided meditation\, creative writing prompts\, optional sharing\,
and a short sound bath. There will be a reading from Freya's debut book\,
Unlearning\, to Love: An Academic's Memoir on Truth\, Meaning\, and Spirit
\, and signed copies are available afterward. No experience of meditation
or creative writing needed & everyone is welcome. Bring your favorite note
book and pen. About the facilitator: Freya Shi (she/they) is a writer\, po
 et\, art practitioner\, holistic wellbeing facilitator using astrology\, t
arot\, meditation\, and critical theory in service of collective liberatio
 n. Having lived across two oceans\, three continents\, and four languages
 as a neuroqueer migrant of ESEA heritage\, Freya’s work centers care\, t
 ransformation\, and worldbuilding. A 2026 Barbican Young Poet and a 2024 B
ritish Council Venice Biennale Fellow\, Freya's writing has appeared in Af
terall and Moving Discourse\, and they write the newsletter Mythopoetics f
or the Living where critical and spiritual thoughts meet. Unlearning\, to
Love is Freya's debut book exploring how we move from intellectual burnout
to embodied\, meaningful living. Part memoir\, part cultural criticism\,
part spiritual guide\, it weaves together critical theory\, astrology\, ps
ychotherapy\, somatics\, and spirituality to show how personal healing is
inseparable from collective liberation. More info here.\n\nBoletos: https:
