 \, having joined the staff in 2007. His writing ranges from columns to cov
 er stories\, including April’s “My Lost Art World\,” his remembrance
  of the 1990s New York art scene for the magazine’s annual “Yesteryear
 ” issue. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism in 2018. He is 
 the author of several books\, including How to Be an Artist\, Art Is Life
 \, and Seeing Out Loud: The Village Voice Art Columns\, 1998–2003.Massim
 iliano Gioni is the Toby Devan Lewis Director of the New Museum\, overseei
 ng the museum’s artistic direction and operations. He first joined the m
 useum as a curator in 2006\, later becoming Director of Special Exhibition
 s and Associate Director. Gioni served as the New Museum’s Edlis Neeson 
 Artistic Director for more than a decade\, leading the exhibition program 
 and playing a crucial role in the OMA-designed expansion of the museum’s
