 ace festivalPENANCE is a poetry workshop facilitated by @nolsnathankski th
 at brings together 7 poets to produce automatic poetry under deliberately 
 restricted conditions in The Crypt Gallery as part of the Hold Space poetr
 y festival.Over the course of two hours\, participants respond to three mi
 nute prompts and immediately perform their poems to the Crypt.Poets are li
 mited to pen\, paper\, and water. Choosing to use a phone\, drink alcohol\
 , smoke\, or otherwise distract oneself results in becoming an audience me
 mber. None have failed yet. No photography or filming is allowed.Since its
  inception\, PENANCE has generated over 200 poems performed by more than 3
 0 poets. The workshop has become a small but intense microcosm of the Lond
 on poetry scene\, bringing together poets from a wide range of backgrounds
 . Through shared discomfort\, attention\, and repetition\, a committed com
 munity has formed and radical\, confessional poetry continues to emerge.Ac
 cess - to enter the workshop participants must navigate a flights of stair
 s\, handrails are provided. We will be hosting more accessible workshops i
