 g musicians bringing a new generation of voices to classic soul\, funk and
  rhythm and blues. Over the years\, The Sweethearts have performed on stag
 es around the world\, including repeat appearances at Montreux Jazz Festiv
 al in Switzerland\, Jazz à Vienne in France and Porretta Soul Festival in
  Italy\, and have worked with renowned musicians including Bernard “Pret
 ty” Purdie\, Pee Wee Ellis\, Gil Askey and Vivian Sessoms. The current l
 ine-up pairs exceptional musicianship with a deep appreciation for the sou
 nds that came before them. Drawing from the rich traditions of soul\, New 
 Orleans funk and rhythm and blues\, The Sweethearts combine tight rhythm s
 ections\, expressive horns\, rich vocal arrangements and an instinctive se
 nse of groove with a perspective distinctly their own. Launching the first
  single from their debut album of original material\, A Woman’s World\, 
 brings together nine songs steeped in classic soul\, funk\, blues and rhyt
 hm and blues\, with contributions from 21 different songwriters across the
  band. Driven by tight grooves\, rich horn arrangements\, warm keys and po
 werful vocal performances\, the album captures a songwriting sophisticatio
 n and instrumental dexterity that feels right at home alongside influences
  such as Irma Thomas\, Anne Peebles and The Meters. ~~ Kindred acknowledge
  the Traditional Owners of the land that this event is to be held on\, the
  Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation. We pay o
