SUMMARY:Ben P Williams
LOCATION:Manchester Hey! Manchester @ Low Four Studio
DESCRIPTION:Macharia - We’re delighted to be helping Ben P Williams laun
ch his new album!Manchester-based singer-songwriter Ben P Williams returns
with Sing Your Own Melody\, a warm\, humorous and emotionally honest new
album about love\, loneliness\, hope and finding your place in the chaos o
f modern life. This full-band album launch sees Ben joined by Eryl Roberts
(drums)\, Matt Owens (double bass) and Justin Shearn (keys).Drawing influe
nce from folk\, soul\, jazz and classic singer-songwriter traditions\, Sin
g Your Own Melody is eclectic without ever losing its sense of identity. T
he album combines melodic warmth with lyrical wit\, balancing heartbreak\,
self-doubt and joy in equal measure. The first single\, Time To Show Yours
elf A Little Love\, is a comforting piano-led track in the spirit of Bill
Withers’ Lean On Me\, infused with the playful observational style of Pa
ul Simon. Beginning with a man overwhelmed by disappointment and isolation
\, the song gradually opens into something hopeful and uplifting — a rem
inder to treat yourself with kindness when life becomes difficult. Filled
with surreal imagery and understated humour\, the lyrics move through scen
es where “the moon falls down the stairs and nobody hears” and “all
the flowers in the bowl demand extra pay”\, capturing the strange emotio
nal logic of difficult days before resolving in a moment of warmth and hop
e:“Gold\, everything is covered in goldFrom the wisdom of youth to the b
eauty of the old”Speaking about the track\, Ben says: “I wanted it to
feel comforting without becoming sentimental — like a song that sits bes
ide you during difficult moments but still leaves room for humour and hope
.”Across Sing Your Own Melody\, Williams explores modern love\, overthin
king\, loneliness\, emotional resilience and the absurdity of everyday lif
 e. From the uplifting title track’s encouragement to “get up and do it
even when you’re not in the mood”\, to the romantic uncertainty of Th
e Only Way To Fall and the rueful honesty of All The Stupid Things That I
’ve Done\, the album finds beauty in flawed people trying their best to
figure life out. Williams has built a loyal following through his blend of
thoughtful songwriting and warm\, engaging live performances\, earning su
pport from BBC Radio 2\, BBC Introducing and 6 Music. He continues to esta
blish himself as one of the UK’s most distinctive independent singer-son
gwriters.Sing Your Own Melody is released on 25 September.Special guest is
Macharia. Made in Kenya and based in Manchester\, Macharia is an artist w
hose work bridges cultures\, bringing Kenyan stories and musical tradition
s to a wider audience. Singing in both Swahili and English\, her work blen
ds rich vocal textures with intimate\, reflective storytelling\; creating
space for healing\, connection and self-discovery. In 2025\, she was award

ling her to return to Kenya to reconnect with her cultural heritage. This
research directly informed her show focused on exploring home\, belonging
