 uitarist and band leader Craig Fortnam formed North Sea Radio Orchestra (N
 SRO) and they began rehearsing and performing in old churches\, secreted a
 way in the heart of the City Of London. At first their audience had to exp
 lore the lost alleys and lanes of old Londinium to hear their unique sound
 \; strings\, wind. percussion\, organs\, guitars and voices create a world
  where harmony and melody abound - both ancient yet modern.\n\nNSRO then m
 oved out into the world at large\; performing in venues diverse – from c
 hurches to clubs to Freakzone sessions to festivals\, opera houses\, libra
 ries etc etc. They have released six albums including last year's critical
 ly-acclaimed 'Special Powers'\n\n“North Sea Radio Orchestra might share 
 with Britten and Vaughan Williams a kind of haunted melancholy that has co
 me to be seen as characteristically English\, but their music couldn’t h

 Arts Desk\n\n\\---\n\nClassically trained on violin and vocals\, Kate now 
 bases her work around the hammered dulcimer and strings\, using live-loopi
 ng and real-time electronic effects. Her two-part electro-medieval album w
 as released in 2020-21 and her piece 'Tagnachtlampe' was described as 'abs
 olutely extraordinary' by BBC Radio 3. She recently completed a full-time 
 PhD on Old French song and Arabic poetry of the 12th and 13th centuries an
 d is now working on her next album.\n\nKate has performed with cellist Jo 
 Quail\, Lindy-Fay Hella (Wardruna)\, instrument inventor Thomas Truax\, el
 ectronic composer Sarah Angliss and BBC Folk Award winner Lisa Knapp\, amo
