DESCRIPTION:Plus Lawyr - Jim Ghedi hails from Sheffield\, South Yorkshire 
 and although clearly well versed in the history of folk music\, he stands 
 out as a torch bearer for a new generation of respectful yet experimental 
 performers.His album Wasteland\, released in March 2025\, saw wide acclaim
  and was recognised as a profoundly bold sonic statement that is some of t
 he most rich\, far-reaching and ambitious work in the Folk genre – pushi
 ng the boundaries of what folk music can be. His third album released on t
 he Basin Rock record label\, this new sound emulates a more brooding\, dar
 ker and electronic world which is mirrored in his piercing lyrics and sing
 ing. He draws from social observations\, contemporary songwriting\, histor
 ical and traditional material.This year\, Ghedi will also release his firs
 t film soundtrack for A24’s thriller The Death of Robin Hood\, after bei
 ng approached by director Michael Sarnoski. A dark adaptation of the 17th 
 Century folk-tale Robin Hood’s Death\, the film is out in the UK in Sept
 ember 2026\, and stars Hugh Jackman\, Jodie Comer\, Bill Skarsgård and mo

 tilitarian design. Drawing on recordings from the Arctic and the ocean\, s
