SUMMARY:JSAS Tokyo Conference 2026\, "Afrasian Connectivities in a Changin
 g and Turbulent World"
LOCATION:千葉経済大学
DESCRIPTION:Japan Society for Afrasian Studies(JSAS) 2026 Annual Conferenc
e "Afrasian connectivities in a Changing and Turbulent World" In response
to unpredictable events unfolding on Earth in 2026\, people’s efforts to
endure\, overcome\, or respond to turbulence are proving more valuable th
an in the past. This year\, the JSAS Tokyo Conference gives a dialogue on
Asia and Africa’s connectivity\, focusing on how people cope with distre
ss in their livelihoods. We are pleased to host the space to listen to voi
ces from Africa and Asia in Chiba\, Japan. This keynote session will exami
ne how current global crises and climate change are disrupting food system
s among producers and their supply chain. These challenges disproportionat
ely affect agricultural producers between the developed countries and “t
he others\,” and in particular\, the latter argument is blurred by the t
urbulence of war and global economic inflation. The discussion will highli
ght the challenges faced by small-scale farmers amid supply chain instabil
ity\, rising costs\, and food security concerns. In doing so\, we explore
pathways toward more resilient\, inclusive\, and sustainable agricultural
and trade systems. 🌊Programme 10:00-11:30 Keynote Session “Global Cri
