DESCRIPTION:For the first time in Munich: Aircraft.
Founded in Kyiv in 20
 11 and now based in Berlin\, the band Aircraft has built a devoted interna
 tional following with music reduced to its bare essentials: drum machine\,
  guitar and voice. Gentle vocals drift over warm\, brooding guitar motifs 
 and the pulse of vintage drum machines and synthesisers. Somewhere between
  early Depeche Mode\, Cocteau Twins and A.R. Kane\, their sound can move w
 ithout warning from light irony into melancholy\, tension and gothic shado
 w. Minimal in form\, deeply atmospheric in effect.\n\nThe concert launches
  a new series dedicated to contemporary Ukrainian music\, art and culture
 \, taking place at Lieberscholli over the coming months. The series is cur
 ated by Olha Borovyk\, a Kyiv-born\, Munich-based producer\, translator\, 
 artist and cultural activist. In 2022\, she produced and curated Munich’
 s first event series devoted entirely to contemporary Ukrainian culture\, 
 bringing some of Ukraine’s leading artists to the city.\n\nBefore Aircra
 ft take the stage\, Borovyk presents the live premiere of her audio projec
 t Unrounded Vowels. She translates works by major contemporary Ukrainian p
 oets into English while preserving their rhythm\, rhyme and natural musica
 lity. Layered over lo-fi beats and electronic soundscapes\, the poems beco
 me immersive audio pieces that carry the sound and movement of the Ukraini
 an originals into English\, allowing their humour\, grief and intimacy to 
 travel beyond language. Following coverage by leading European media\, inc
 luding Süddeutsche Zeitung\, the project will be performed live for the f
 irst time with internationally touring DJ and producer Human Rias\, who re
 constructs its electronic architecture around Borovyk’s voice in real ti
 me.\n\nAfter the concert\, the night continues with an afterparty co-curat
 ed by Tuff Monty\, a fixture of Munich’s underground and a resident at L
 egal Club and Goldener Reiter. Expect house and techno from the 90s to rig
 ht now\, built for a dancefloor that doesn’t let up. Full line-up to be
