 Godson” Wilhite\, for a night dialed into the deep musical lineage of th
 e Motor City.\n\nFor more than three decades\, Rick Wilhite has been an es
 sential figure in Detroit’s underground. A DJ\, producer\, record dealer
  and lifelong student of music\, his story runs through some of the city
 ’s most important musical institutions and relationships.\n\nHe is a mem
 ber of the legendary Three Chairs alongside Theo Parrish\, Kenny Dixon Jr.
  (Moodymann) and Marcellus Pittman — four artists whose raw\, soulful an
 d uncompromising approach helped define a particular strain of Detroit hou
 se music.\n\nBut Rick’s influence extends far beyond his own records. Th
 rough Vibes New & Rare Music\, his Detroit record store and later compilat
 ion series\, Wilhite became a trusted source for DJs\, collectors and prod
 ucers searching for music outside the obvious. His ear has always crossed 
 boundaries — deep house\, disco\, soul\, funk\, techno\, jazz\, rare gro
 oves and everything between.\n\nThat same philosophy defines a Rick Wilhit
 e DJ set. There is no formula and no destination in Rick’s set’s.  He 
 chooses records for the room he’s in\, a true pro.  Deep\, raw\, soulful
 \, strange\, uplifting and unmistakably Detroit. Music for dancers and lis
 teners.\n\nHAF S (JEEP MIX)\, aka HXF\, is a Toronto-based DJ\, producer\,
  artist\, and cultural connector with over 25 years rooted in dance music.
