 Rebellion Thursday 8th October 2026 LIGHT ASYLUM is the internationally re
 vered techno-punk music project of vocalist\, producer Shannon Funchess fo
 unded in Brooklyn\, New York in 2007. Captivating audiences with cathartic
  performances\, LIGHT ASYLUM emerged in 2009 at the forefront of a movemen
 t turned full blown revival of late 70’s to 90’s electronic music insp
 ired by pioneers of Detroit techno\, Belgian new beat\, EBM\, gothic rock
 \, Chicago house\, new wave and synth pop. Autumn of 2011 would herald a n
 ew gothic club anthem “Dark Allies” with Funchess emoting eternal life
  in her signature contralto singing\, “Forever…and ever” on the debu
 t ‘In Tension’ EP (Mexican Summer/Kemado Records). A debut full length
  S/T LP released the following spring aided in igniting the dark wave genr
 e that coincided with the cold wave revival in NYC’s underground music s
 cene. Funchess carried the torch above ground to iconic venues Radio City 
 Music Hall\, Koko\, The Sydney Opera House\, Moulin Rouge and Berghain. Su
 mmer 2025 will mark the first release of LIGHT ASYLUM since 2012. Please n
