DESCRIPTION:Aberdeen is a Brooklyn-based horn band known for its soulful me
 lody-driven instrumental arrangements led by Brian Plautz. Aberdeen's musi

 lbums *Downpour* and *Held Together* showcase their energetic\, massive\,

 onny McCaslin's escapades on the tenor saxophone have both embraced and so
 metimes repudiated contemporary notions of jazz — often simultaneously a
 nd with a deep understanding of what has come before and what lies ahead. 
 Although he garnered widespread acclaim for his stint as bandleader for Da
 vid Bowie’s swansong LP *Blackstar*\, McCaslin’s journey to that point
  encompassed numerous yard markers of the up-and-coming jazzer with bounda
