DESCRIPTION:William Basinski is a classically trained musician and composer
  who has been working in experimental media for over 40 years in NYC and L
 os Angeles. Employing obsolete technology and analogue tape loops\, his ha
 unting and melancholy soundscapes explore the temporal nature of life and 
 resound with the reverberations of memory and the mystery of time. \n\nDes
 ert-born producer Cholla programs soft rhythms and dubbed out pads anchore
 d around the atmospheric and IDM phantasms that are within the ambient gen
 re. Mentored through various DIY electronic scenes in her late teens and o
 ngoing\, she morphs together a pallet of hypnotic compositions\, creating 
 sand like textures that gently pulsate alive. \n\nDURATIONS Festival is a 
 week-long\, multi-disciplinary exploration of sound and connection. Now in
  its fifth iteration\, the festival’s programming is its most robust yet
 \, with seven days of music\, talks\, audiovisual work taking place betwee
 n Public Records\, Pioneer Works\, Roulette\, and Whitney Museum of Americ
 an Art.\n\n-\n\nPublic Records aims to provide a safer space. We reject al
