 nfluential British albums of the early 1990s — Massive Attack’s debut 
 Blue Lines.\n\nReleased in 1991\, Blue Lines emerged from Bristol’s pion
 eering Wild Bunch sound-system scene\, bringing together hip-hop\, dub\, r
 eggae\, soul\, funk and electronic music into something that sounded compl
 etely different at the time. The album’s atmospheric production\, deep b
 asslines and remarkable vocals from Shara Nelson\, Horace Andy and others 
 helped establish the musical foundations that would become associated with
  the Bristol sound and trip-hop.\n\nFrom the haunting “Safe from Harm”
  and dreamy “Daydreaming” through to the epic “Unfinished Sympathy
 ”\, this is an album that rewards being heard as a complete piece rather
  than simply as a collection of tracks. Blue Lines has subsequently been r
 ecognised as a landmark in British dance and electronic music\, with its i
 nfluence extending across generations of producers and artists.\n\nSo join
