Over more than a decade\, Tinlicker have consistently p
ushed boundaries in the world of electronic music\, cultivating a sound th
at is both unique and personal. The use of real instruments\, ranging from
strings to keys to horns\, has long been a staple of the ensemble that he
lps to separate their sound from more traditional dance acts. Beyond the i
nstrumentation\, their music also has an unusual and powerful propensity t
o evoke an array of feelings\, from euphoria to sadness\, and everything i
n between. It&rsquo\;s music one can dance to\, no doubt\, but it&rsquo\;s
also music that tells a compelling story.
After their 2021 breakth
rough with single &lsquo\;Because You Move Me&rsquo\; (over 1 billion stre
ams now)\, Tinlicker implemented some radical changes - they left their lo
ng-time label\, Anjunadeep for [PIAS] and transitioned from performing pur
ely DJ sets to a format including live/band performances. Risky but well-c
alculated choices\, necessary for the next steps to realize the creative d
irection of the album they were working on\, &lsquo\;Cold Enough For Snow&
rsquo\; (2024). The resulting LP was a masterclass in balancing innovation
