  - 10:00pm Ted Mulry first gained attention after sending demos of his ori
 ginal songs to Albert Productions\, who encouraged him to become a recordi
 ng artist. He found early success as a solo singer-songwriter with "Julia"
  in 1970\, followed by the major hit "Falling in Love Again" in 1971. A pr
 olific songwriter\, Mulry also wrote songs recorded by artists including J
 ohn Farnham\, Alison MacCallum and Sherbet. In 1972\, he formed the Ted Mu
 lry Gang (TMG) with Les Hall and Herman Kovac\, later joined by Gary Dixon
 . Adopting a harder rock sound\, the band scored their biggest hit with "J
 ump in My Car"\, which spent 11 weeks at number one in Australia in 1976 a
 nd made TMG the first Australian act to knock ABBA from the top spot. TMG 
 followed with hits including "Darktown Strutters' Ball"\, "Crazy"\, "Jamai
 ca Rum" and "My Little Girl"\, remaining a popular live act even after the
