DESCRIPTION:About the Crowns\n\nEqual parts Rockabilly\, Punk Rock\, and Ro
 ck N Roll\, the Crowns exploded onto an unsuspecting Rhode Island scene in
  late 1993 and wasted no time in hitting the road with their raw\, hyper-k
 inetic sing-alongs and their explosive live show. The self-described punk 
 rockabilly band toured the world for the next 8 years. The Crowns often sh
 ared the stage with label mates Social Distortion & Reverend Horton Heat\,
  as well as other artists like The Cramps\, X\, Tiger Army\, Hank III\, Th
 e Damned\, The Specials\, Dropkick Murphys\, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones\,
  The Supersuckers\, Rocket From The Crypt\, The Misfits\, and many more.\n
 \nThroughout their career\, The Crowns released multiple singles\, EPs\, a
 nd 3 full-length albums. They have recorded music on various labels (Sub P
 op\, Time Bomb\, and BMG\, to name a few). They won 4 Boston Music Awards
 \, won the WBCN Rumble (the only Providence band to have won since the WBC
 N Rumble inception in 1979)\, and have toured the world numerous times. Th
 ey’ve endured lawsuits\, broken bones\, accidents\, and band fights all 
 in the name of blood\, sweat & grease\, and they haven’t regretted a sec
 ond of any of it.\n\nAbout the 2026 Providence Payback\n\nThe Crowns have 
 reunited and have brought back their annual Providence Payback festival at
  the same time! The Payback fest was a yearly event that the band would ho
 st at Lupo’s and the Met as a thank you to\, and a party for their fans.
  The fest ran from 1996-2001 and featured many national and local bands. A
 lways a fun time\, expect to see various genres of music and maybe some su
 rprises!\n\nThis year's Payback will be held at Alchemy in Providence over
  two nights\, October 2nd and 3rd. This enables the band to vary up the se
 t lists each night with some surprises\, while keeping the shows tight and
  energetic.\n\nNight # 1 brings the reunion of legendary Providence band B
 oss Fuel. 32 years in the making\, this is a dream for the Crowns\, as Bos
 s Fuel is the band that influenced the the band in the early nineties\, an
 d Dennis Kelly (Boss Fuel guitarist) is the 5th Crown\, having recorded an
 d toured with them in the past.\n\nMaking this night even stronger is Lenn
 y Lashley's Gang Of One. Lenny is an institution in New England. Whether a
 ppearing as part of a band or as a solo artist\, the power of his songwrit
 ing connects with audiences from Boston to all corners of the globe. The C
 rowns have a long history with Lenny and are excited to share a stage agai
 n with him. Lenny last appeared at the Providence Payback in 2001with Dark
 buster.\n\nNight #2 features the Pilfers straight from NYC. The Crowns hav
 e played with the Pilfers many times throughout their career and are looki
 ng forward to sharing the stage at this year's Payback with these "Raggaco
 re" ska legends. We will be announcing the second band in August\; they're
  worth the wait.\n\nThese two Payback dates are the only shows the Crowns
