  as a way of creating scores for films that existed only in his imaginatio
 n. After a period of dormancy\, the project returned to life in the Spring
  of 2026\, when Fairchild was joined by friends Mikael Jorgensen (Wilco)\,
  Scott Hirsch (Hiss Golden Messenger)\, and Jeremy Turner (Metropolitan Op
 era Orchestra).*\n\n*Over the course of two evenings\, the four musicians 
 gathered in Ojai\, California to make music at Hotel El Roblar. Those enco
 unters moved somewhere between composition and intuition\, stillness and m
 otion. The second night was recorded and became “I Still Hope the Last F
 ace I See Is You”\, Small Isles’ first album in its present form.*\n\n
