 lein und erschwinglich gelangte sie früh in den Süden der USA\, wo sie i
 m Blues der schwarzen Bevölkerung alsbald die Fiedel ersetze. \nFrühe Sp
 ieler:innen wie Sonny Boy Williamson\, James Cotton und Sonny Terry präge
 n bis heute Generationen von Mundharmonika-Spieler:innen. Nicht wenige spi
 elten tagsüber auf dem Feld\, am Samstagabend im Juke Joint und am Sonnta
 g in der Kirche\, wo der Blues sich mit dem Gospel mischte. Musikalisch st
 ehen sich Gospel und Blues sehr nahe\, oft sind es die Texte\, die sie unt

  für seinen einzigartigen Country Hill Blues auf der Mundharmonika bekann

 l Küstner \nist Bluesforscher\, Journalist\, Fotograf\, Sammler. Der Blue
 s-Experte veröffentlichte im Label von Horst Lippmann und Fritz Rau (L+R 
 Records) das Boxset "Living Country Blues U.S.A." mit mehr als 160 Aufnahm
 en bis heute zu den besten Field Recordings der Bluesgeschichte gehören.\

  and sorrows. For others\, it is the devil’s music\, outrageous and wick
 ed: the blues—born among the Black population of the American South and\
 , to this day\, closely associated with an instrument that quickly found i
 ts way into the world: the harmonica. Small and affordable\, it arrived ea
 rly in the southern United States\, where it soon replaced the fiddle in t
 he blues of the Black community. \nEarly players like Sonny Boy Williamson
