DESCRIPTION:For the weekend of October 30 & 31st\, IT takes over the Tangen
 t with two extended parties — IT presents Beyond on Friday\, October 30t
 h —with a 12 hour party with one DJ – Daniel Bell and Samhain XXVI on 
 Saturday\, October 31st — a 13 hour Samhain in 2 rooms at the Tangent. 
 \n\nIT presents Beyond sees Daniel Bell’s extended party concept come to
  Detroit for the historic Samhain Eve\, Friday\, October 30th. A party in 
 the hands of only one master DJ — Daniel Bell — for 12 hours straight 
 in the Ballroom at Tangent. Surrounded by Jim Gibbons’ massive sound sys
 tem in a space transformed by Amber Gillen & the Infinite Dimensions Crew
 \, there is only one place to go — Beyond. \n\nA 13 hour Samhain — Ful
 l immersion in the music and environment as we celebrate the energy of tra
 nsformation with a 13 hour party on the holiday that best embodies that sp
 irit\, Samhain.  This is our fifth Samhain (pronounced “sow-in”) at Ta
 ngent\, and at 2:00am time becomes a loop and we go back to 1:00am\, gaini
 ng an extra hour for the party. \n\nFor this Samhain\, we have gone above 
 and beyond\, expanding the event to a weekend of full sonic immersion\, an
 d taking Samhain itself to the highest heights\, for the climax of the nig
 ht. The DJs here they just don’t quit… In the Ballroom this year we ha
 ve Eris Drew & Octo Octa present Alchemical Sisters\, their project that t
 akes heavy inspiration from their love of big beat\, celebrating the debut
  double album from Alchemical Sisters on IT being released for and availab
 le at Samhain - the season of transformation. More powerful pairings in th
 e Ballroom include the raw class of Berlin-based Lakuti x Tama Sumo and th
 e dynamic duo of Forcefield comprised of two of the Netherlands’ finest 
 DJs - Afra and Serge (the founder of Clone Records). Detroit’s Tammy Lak
 kis will launch the room with her incredible style. \n\nThe Dark Room focu
 ses IT’s transcendental energy into a night of transformation via Interd
 imensional travel with a four hour opening set from Hodge x Erika\, deeply
  immersive sets from IT founder BMG\, Neel (from Voices From The Lake)\, N
 WB resident Mike Servito and an epic closing set from Samhain resident Moz
 hgan. \n\nDimensions collide as we celebrate not only Samhain but this spe
 cial conjunction of artists and philosophies which transcend time and spac
 e. We shall cleanse and renew\, absorbing all the energy and space for the
  fleeting but deeply needed moments of freedom that we all deserve.   \n\n

 Tangent Gallery.   \n\nBMG on Samhain: "It's the Celtic holiday that Hallo
 ween spawns from. It was the loop point\, the new year. Ancient people dea
 lt with grey areas in strange ways\, the change between years caused this 
 loose period existing between the end and beginning. This is where it gets
  interesting: they believed dimensions were colliding in a sort of interdi
 mensional crosstalk\, where the planes of the living and the dead were tou
 ching\, so the dead could walk the earth. A way to convene with your ances
 tors\, and a great reason to burn fires and scare your friends and neighbo
 rs. There's way more to it\, most of it can't be written\, it can only be 
 felt\, which is usually elusive but somehow easy at this time of year."
