 ROJECT PAT**\n\nProject Pat is one of the defining voices of Memphis rap a
 nd easily one of the most recognizable artists to come out of the scene. B
 orn Patrick Houston\, he’s also the older brother of Juicy J\, one of th
 e founders of Three 6 Mafia. Because of that connection\, Pat’s career g
 rew alongside the rise of the Three 6 Mafia sound that ended up shaping a 
 huge part of Southern hip hop.\n\nWhat always stood out about Project Pat 
 is how unique his delivery is. His flow has this loose\, storytelling styl
 e that almost sounds conversational\, but it rides perfectly over those da
 rk Memphis beats. A lot of his music uses heavy samples\, especially soul 
 and blaxploitation-era music. The Willie Hutch samples are some of the bes
 t examples of that. That gritty\, cinematic sound fits perfectly with the 
 Memphis production style that Three 6 Mafia popularized.\n\nPat really bro
 ke through in the early 2000s with albums like Mista Don’t Play: Everyth
 angs Workin and Layin’ Da Smack Down. Those records helped bring the Mem
 phis underground sound to a much bigger audience. Songs like “Chickenhea
 d” became huge in the South and eventually spread nationally\, helping e
 stablish that hypnotic\, bass-heavy style that would later influence artis
 ts across hip hop.\n\nOne thing that makes Project Pat special is that his
  music always feels authentic to the Memphis sound. The beats are dark\, t
 he samples are soulful\, and the drums hit hard. You can hear the connecti
 on to the Three 6 Mafia production style\, but Pat always brings his own p
