  brings together institutions from across South Africa for a day of athlet
 ic excellence\, entertainment\, and meaningful social impact. The inaugura
 l Cheer for Change is proposed to take place on the 10th of October 2026. 
 More than a competition\, the event uses the energy and influence of unive
 rsity sport to unite students\, celebrate talent\, empower women in sport
 \, and raise awareness around Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Hosted by the N
 orth-West University Sports Department\, the event aims to become an annua
 l platform that combines competitive cheerleading with community engagemen
