SUMMARY:The Fast Camels
LOCATION:Leytonstone Social Club
DESCRIPTION:- The Fast Camels explosive blend of 60’s influenced psyched
elia\, freakbeat and classic power-pop has been turning heads on the live
circuit in their native Glasgow since their formation in 2005. Off the bac
k of a very successful tour in the West Coast of America\, the band were i
nvited to support one of their biggest influences from the 1960s music sce
ne (Johnny Echols - Love) both in the USA and UK. This and a very producti
ve time inthe recording studio\, Glasgow’s\, 'The Fast Camels' have just
released their 5th studio album\, 'Lost To This World'.‘Lost To This Wo
rld’ is a departure from their earlier freakbeat/psychedelic influences
although these genres are still prevalent. The new direction takes on a mo
re energetic yet dark account of emotions\, dealing with loss\, love and e
verything in between.Playing a string of festivals has taken the band thro
ughout mainland Europe as well as the USA\, while an extensive number of g
igs up and down the UK has served to promote their 60s inspired psychedeli
c pop to the ever growing following of the The Fast Camels.Guitar driven\,
the templates are primarily Love\, The Byrds\, Barrett’s Floyd and the
UK Kaleidoscope. There is precious little whimsy here\, the band attack th
e songs with gusto\, creating waves of sound which are well produced\, thi
ck and full bodied."Their songs remind me of Love at “BIDO LITO’S” i
n 1966..’ JOHNNY ECHOLS (LOVE) "an intriguing mix of Barrett-era Pink Fl
oyd\, the pretty things psych-pop period and small dollops of 'Forever Cha
nges' period Love..." SHINDIG"Pretty cool" RECORD COLLECTOR"An authentic 6
0's sound with a bit of something 21st century in the mix" RESONANCE RADIO
